October 5 - MeteoGroup, one of the world's leading weather forecasting companies, has teamed-up with Veson Nautical - a provider of maritime software and services - to simplify reporting aboard vessels and communications with onshore operations.

Veson's Integrated Maritime Operations System (IMOS) will now connect with both MeteoGroup's ship performance optimisation tool (SPOS) and its ship routing and performance analysis service (RouteGuard). This connection is made possible via Veson's Veslink voyage reporting product.

Using Veslink voyage updates can be automatically shared with SPOS/RouteGuard via the Veslink Network, which serves to increase a ship's operational efficiency and reduce workloads both on the vessel and onshore. The voyage data collected through Veslink drives both more accurate and timely routing and performance information from SPOS/RouteGuard, as well as the forward itinerary, plus profit and loss analysis in IMOS.

Mark White, business unit director marine at MeteoGroup said: "MeteoGroup and Veson look to add value by collaborating on a range of products in the near future. MeteoGroup is delighted to include Veson in its partnership programme, looking to build improved products for its combined shipping customers."
