February 19 - CNC Freight Services has managed the transport of heavy pressure vessels from Malaysia to DeKalb, Illinois, USA.

CNC Freight Services - a member of the Worldwide Project Consortium (WWPC) network for Malaysia - shifted four 288-tonne PCD vessels measuring 22.2 m x 6.5 m x 6.7 m; and two 68-tonne flare knockout drums with dimensions of 32.2 m x 4.7 m x 5.2 m.

Two separate part-charter vessels were arranged for the shipment of the six units.

The cargoes were delivered to Mobile port, USA, where fellow WWPC member Albacor Shipping Inc arranged for the goods to be received by barges. The consignment was delivered to DeKalb via the Mississippi River.

The over-dimensional goods were transported from the ro-ro jetty using double-wide multi-axle trailers. Four overhead power lines had to be shut down during the inland transportation in order for the PCD vessels to pass through.

The final oversized pressure vessel was delivered to the Kempers Country integrated gasification combined cycle
(IGCC) jobsite on January 24, 2013.
