September 25 - Members from every continent gathered in Budapest, Hungary from September 21-23 for the XLProjects (XLP) network's second annual general meeting (AGM).

The AGM, which was held at the splendid Corinthia Hotel Budapest, was well attended by a high percentage of member companies, doubling the amount present at the network's first AGM in Cape Town, South Africa in 2013.

Delegates heard presentations from Hooman Nasseh, vice president of this year's capital sponsor, Iranian forwarder Tehran Rahvar, who discussed upcoming opportunities in Iran, as well as from Nunzio De Filippis, vice president of US based MariTrans.

Members were also treated to a banquet night out at the restaurant boat and museum Vén Hajó Étterem, followed by an after-dinner scenic river cruise along the Danube.

"I've been involved with other projects groups in the past," said XLP executive director, Gary Dale Cearley, "but this meeting was special. There was so much positive energy in the event that it will drive us even harder to make the meeting even more special next year. But the members of XLProjects are definitely worth the effort. They are the industry best, bar none."

Steve Cross, XLP business development manager, added: "I really got a charge of satisfaction from the relationship building I saw here in Budapest. Everyone here was making new connections professionally as well as on a personal level. This is what it is all about. This is how I know what we've done here was a success."

Established in 2012, the young, vibrant and fast-growing XLP network has expanded quickly, with many new members being reported every month.
