Barnhart on the acquisition trail

Barnhart Crane and Rigging is set to acquire the crane and rigging operations, including all associated personnel and equipment, of Ohio-based Selinsky Force.

Selinsky Force provides crane services with a lifting capacity of up to 275-ton (249.5 tonnes); hydraulic gantries; sliding equipment; lift trucks of up to 100,000-lb (45.4-tonne) capacity; and trucking services including hydraulic transporters.

The acquisition will, according to Barnhart, further enhance its presence in the Midwest where it already operates a number of branches in Kentucky and Illinois.

Matt Brennan, Barnhart chief financial officer, said: “[Selinsky’s] crane and rigging customers will benefit from access to Barnhart’s nationwide network of locations backed up by project cargo logistics capabilities, its engineering department with more than 60 engineers, and its own fleet of barges for transport on inland waterways.”

Last month, Barnhart announced plans to acquire Idaho-based crane service provider Strate Line Crane and Rigging, as HLPFI reported here.

The purchase of Strate Line will expand Barnhart’s ability to serve commercial and civil sectors, as well as customers active in heavy industries, in northwestern USA.
