June 18 - Blue Water Shipping has appointed general manager of its branch offices in Odense and Lindoe, Soren Nielsen, as the new director of its general cargo division.

Kim Hedegaard Sørensen, managing director of Blue Water, explains why the company chose an internal candidate for the role: "Nielsen brings with him wide sea, air and transport experience and expertise, along with 25 years of management and development experience at Blue Water."

"Our general cargo division forms a strong basis for our entire versatile business," adds Nielsen, who took up his new appointment on June 1.

Blue Water says that it has great ambitions for the ongoing development of the general cargo division, handling the transport of industrial cargo and retail goods by air, sea and road.

The primary activities of the division are focused on import and export between Scandinavia and the rest of the world. Nielsen explains that Blue Water's general cargo division wishes to make the Nordic countries its home market, and develop inter-Nordic traffic.

However, he explains that the company plans to also focus its worldwide operations in the future. "This will include the USA, where we are currently in the process of expanding out general cargo organisation," said Nielsen.
