Headquartered in Madrid, Space Cargo has seven offices in Spain and one office in Colombia. In addition to its ocean and airfreight services, the company handles special projects, including feasibility studies for special transport; Customs clearance; as well as the hiring of special or heavy equipment for transport.

The company will be integrated into C.H. Robinson’s global forwarding division.

Bob Biesterfeld, chief operating officer at C.H. Robinson, said: “The acquisition of Space Cargo advances our strategy of expanding our presence globally.

“We continue to look for ways to capitalise on the opportunity to grow globally, in part by acquiring leading local providers that share our commitment of best-in-class service and execution,” added Biesterfeld, who will assume the role of ceo at C.H. Robinson in May 2019.
