Clipper Steel Services celebrates its 20th anniversary

December 14 - Since it was formed In November 1992, Clipper Steel Services has made more than 800 voyages and says that 2012 will be a record year with more than 70 sailings from Europe to USA/Mexico.

What started as one sailing per month has since grown into one of the largest steel carriers from Europe to USA carrying about 2 million tonnes per year.


The company is a sister of specialist heavy lift line, Clipper Projects, has been offering monthly sailings from Europe to the US Gulf and Mexico for 20 years.


Following the merger with Van Ommeren in July 2000, the US East Coast was added to the schedule, and in 2004 the service was expanded to include monthly sailings from Mediterranean with Civitavecchia being the primary port of loading.
