Cosco completes OOCL takeover

Cosco Shipping has completed the acquisition of Orient Overseas International Ltd (OOIL) and its subsidiary Orient Overseas Container Line (OOCL).

Earlier this month, Cosco Shipping secured approval from the Anti-Monopoly Bureau of China to proceed with the USD6.3 billion takeover.

Cosco Shipping now operates a fleet of approximately 400 vessels with a combined capacity of 2.7 million teu.
