Enerpac has been awarded ISO 45001 occupational health and safety standard for its facility in Hengelo.

It is the fourth ISO standard awarded to Enerpac’s Hengelo manufacturing site over the past five years. This standard covers quality and environmental management, including fusion welding practices for the company’s range of heavy lifting products.

Enerpac’s health and safety team in Hengelo is led by Jaap de Geus and Frank Schiphorst. Commenting on the latest award, de Geus said: “It provides a health and safety framework and tools to identify potential risks and the steps needed to either reduce or eliminate them completely. We have been working towards ISO 45001 for the past three years and have seen the benefits of taking a proactive approach to health and safety.”

Schiphorst added: “One in four employees are first responders and receive first aid and resuscitation device training. Every three months we simulate an incident with an actor, this allows employees to put their training into practice, and highlight any areas for improvement.”
