Mammoet and Goldwind Australia have signed a multi-year framework agreement that will initially see the Dutch heavy lift specialist handle the transport and installation work for the 530 MW Stockyard Hill wind farm in western Victoria.

The first planned projects as part of the agreement include the installation of 253 Goldwind wind turbine generators. Mammoet will begin offloading the first wind turbine generators in October 2018, and will provide pre-assembly services, as well as full mechanical and electrical completion works.

Goldwind Australia, a subsidiary of the Chinese wind turbine manufacturer, has a large pipeline of wind projects in Australia, says Mammoet, adding that the manufacturer was therefore looking for a partner with the necessary expertise to provide transport, lifting and installation services.

For the purpose of this agreement, Mammoet has extended its Australian crane fleet with two new Liebherr LG 1750-SX cranes. Further investments will be made in all-terrain support cranes, trucks, trailers and auxiliary equipment.
