Metro Ports appoints director, business development for US west coast

May 22 - US marine terminal operator and stevedore contractor, Metro Ports has appointed Jonathan Allyn as director, business development, U.S. west coast.

Metro Ports says that Allyn (pictured below) will report to Brian Johnson, Metro Ports V.P. of business development, and will focus on existing and future business in the US west and northwest. He has been an executive in the ocean transportation industry with more than 33 years of experience, primarily on the commercial side of the business with a focus on bulk and breakbulk cargoes.

For the past 18 years, Allyn has been actively involved in the trade between North America, Australia and New Zealand, working for Swire ShippingGearbulk ShippingBHP-IMT Transportation and Nedlloyd Line.
