Onego Shipping appoints Antwerp Breakbulk Agencies

August 18 - Antwerp Breakbulk Agencies has been appointed by Onego Shipping as its booking agent in Belgium and France.

Onego Shipping has around 40 vessels ranging from 3,000 tonnes for short sea work, as well as geared vessels between 7,000-175,000 tonnes including tweendeckers.

Onego has around 6-8 sailings per month from Europe to the Gulf of St Lawrence region, US East Coast, US Gulf Coast, East Coast of Mexico, as well as the north coast of South America and the Caribbean.

According to Hans van der Woude from Antwerp Breakbulk Agencies, Onego is keen to attract spot cargoes, steel project and and general cargo through the port of Antwerp and cites the regular direct sailings to main and outports and reasonable prices as good reasons to consider the line's services.

Mr van der Woude says: "2009 has treated us well and July was our best month. August is looking good too. We feel the market is slowly improving."
