The port of Seville in Spain welcomed a delegation from the Danish port of Aalborg recently to analyse possible collaboration in European projects.

According to the Port Authority of Seville (APS), the delegates from Aalborg wanted to learn about the port’s business model and its logistics and industrial capabilities, with the aim of establishing alliances.

APS added that both ports have similar characteristics, which could result in opportunities for collaboration and joint work to develop projects that could enhance competitiveness of inland seaports.

Last year, Seville hosted the general assembly of European Federation of Inland Ports (EFIP), which saw gateways such as Antwerp and Strasbourg meet to discuss the challenges facing the sector.
