November 7 - Europe Cargo has been appointed to discharge cargo destined for Total's OPTARA project in Antwerp from vessels onto the quay.

In total, 34 modules will be loaded at Tarragona port, discharged and stored at the Abes terminal.

The whole shipment will be effected partly by conventional vessels, and partly by semi-submersible and ro-ro carriers.

Heavy lift cargoes, weighing up to 1,000 tonnes, will be trucked via the Scheldelaan to the Total site.

The first vessel - Anne-Sofie - was discharged earlier in October. The cargo consisted of nine modules.

Aertssen and ALE were awarded their inaugural contract as a joint venture, which will also see the two companies work for the OPTARA project at the Total refinery.

Europe Cargo is a member of the Project Partners network.
