United Heavy Lift (UHL) has added the newly-built deck carrier vessel Zhi Xian Zhi Xing to its roster of managed vessels.

Zhixian Transportation’s 26,000 dwt vessel features an unobstructed deck space of 6,020 sq m and is built for the transportation of voluminous ro-ro cargo, says UHL.

The vessel is also fitted with dynamic positioning 2 (DP2), which, according to UHL, allows the vessel to handle float-over operations.

A sister vessel will be completed by the shipyard by the end of 2018.

In addition to the deck carrier, GS-Pango International, the exclusive commercial agent for Guangzhou Salvage’s semi-submersible fleet, has appointed UHL as an agent.

The fleet includes four state-of-the-art semi-submersible vessels ranging from 26,000 dwt up to 50,000 dwt, all fitted with dynamic positioning.

All vessels operate internationally and handle the transportation of large floating cargo, such as rigs and vessels. Similar to the deck carriers,  UHL says the semi-submersible vessels are designed for the transportation of large ro-ro cargoes, including modules, reactors and large cranes.

According to UHL, together with GS-Pango International, the combined fleet will enable the Hamburg-headquartered shipping company to handle modular transportation projects.
