ALE has placed the second of three modules on top of an offshore topside in Texas, USA.

As part of a trial run, ALE’s AL.SK350 super-heavy lift crane, featuring a lifting moment of 354,000 tonne/metres, was rigged with a 124 m main boom and a 49 m ballast radius to lift the module.

The complete load, including the block and tackle lifting system, weighed 2,884.4 tonnes in total. It was lifted with an installation outreach between 31.4 m to 29.9 m.

All three modules, which have a combined weight of 6,614 tonnes, will be fitted in Ingleside ahead of their permanent installation in Israel.

ALE completed the first lift in December, as HLPFI reported here. The final module is expected to be lifted in February, with the removal of the three modules planned for the second quarter of 2019.
