December 4 - Crane Rental Corporation has completed the relocation of energy-generating equipment, manufactured by Siemens Energy, to a natural gas clean energy power plant under construction in south Florida.

Crane Rental loaded the components onto a barge in Charleston, South Carolina, and offloaded them at Port Everglades, Florida.

The company used its 110-tonne capacity Grove 900E hydraulic truck crane to lift mats and barge ramps into place, before the cargo was rolled off the barge using hydraulic modular Goldhofer trailers. The components were then transported by road to their final destination accompanied by police escorts.

Among the 14 components transported were a 306-tonne generator, 153-tonne K-turbine and a 297-tonne gas turbine (pictured below).
