August 21 - Port services provider Cuxport, part of the Rhenus group, has handled the shipment of heavy crane parts for the German agency of the Japanese shipping company NYK Bulk & Projects.

The tower parts were transported to berth 3 at the Europa quay in Cuxport, Germany from a production site in Sunderland, UK via the Port of Immingham, on board a vessel operated by DFDS. A coastal vessel delivered the Liebherr-manufactured jibs, which measured up to 36 m in length, from Rostock via the Baltic Sea.

The crane parts were consolidated on board NYK Bulk & Projects' vessel Imari, for onward transportation to Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam where the components will be used to assemble two new port cranes.

In addition to the Liebherr crane parts, other project loads were loaded by Cuxport using its 100-tonne capacity mobile port crane. The cargoes were stowed and secured in conjunction with Atlantik Hafenbetriebe.
