February 9 - Royal Boskalis Westminster (Boskalis) has advised that the ENI Goliat FPSO (floating production, storage and offloading vessel) has been loaded onboard the semi-submersible heavy lift vessel Dockwise Vanguard.

The unit was floated onto the deck of Dockwise Vanguard in Geoje, South Korea, having been constructed by Hyundai Heavy Industries (HHI) shipyard.

The Goliat FPSO, which is owned by ENI Norge and has a huge diameter of 107 m, will now be shipped to Hammerfest in Norway via the Cape of Good Hope. The vessel is expected to arrive in Europe in April, said ENI Norge.

The platform is destined for use in the ENI-operated Goliat offshore oilfield in the Norwegian sector of the Barents Sea.

Boskalis claims that Goliat is the largest cargo ever loaded on the Dockwise vessel.

After delivery of the Goliat, Dockwise Vanguard will travel to Rotterdam, where the vessel will be prepared for its next assignment - the transport of the 42,000-tonne Armada Intrepid FPSO to the Far East.
