March 5 - Express Global Logistics (EXG) has coordinated the transport of four 74-tonne transformers from India's Mumbai Port to Cartagena in Colombia.

Since the shipment was extremely time-sensitive, EXG explained that it had to look for a vessel based on an inducement call. The only vessel available in the area was BBC Chartering's BBC Niteroi, which has two 60-tonne capacity cranes onboard.

Due to the weight of the transformers, EXG had to employ a 240-tonne floating crane barge to safely lift the units onboard the BBC vessel.

To maintain the tight schedule, BBC Niteroi sailed directly from Mumbai to Cartagena, where a Liebherr LHM 400 mobile harbour crane was used to discharge the four transformers.

Express Global Logistics is a member of the Worldwide Project Consortium (WWPC) in India.
