Germany-based crane company Gräser-Eschbach is expanding its fleet with a Liebherr LTM 1450-8.1 mobile crane.

Gräser-Eschbach is planning to use the 450-tonne capacity crane, which is now the largest in its fleet, for structural steel and bridge construction as well as crane erection work.

One of its first jobs was to dismantle a tower crane at Frankfurt Airport’s new global business village, Gateway Gardens.

“The LTM 1450-8.1 was perfect for this job,” said managing director Frank Eschbach. “The LTM 1450-8.1 was the most economical solution because of its outstanding lifting capacity, particularly with the hook height required.”

He added: “The 85 m telescopic boom was the main criterion in our decision [to purchase the unit].”
