Drake on the double

Australia's Daracon Engineering, which specialises in the transport of earthmoving and mining equipment, has taken delivery of a 5x8 extendable trailer from Drake Trailers.

In addition to general heavy haulage tasks, the manufacturer said the trailer can accommodate longer and heavier items, including loads up to 165 tonnes.

Meanwhile, Amcor Excavations, a Queensland-based earthmoving and bulk haulage operator, has taken delivery of a 3x4 lowbed trailer.

The 45 ft (13.7 m) dropdeck trailer is capable of handling a variety of loads, said Drake Trailers.

“[The trailer] was built with road train duties in mind and fitted with BPW air suspension and axle combinations,” explained Drake. “This is to aid in load stability, which is important for long trips.”
