March 1 - HHLA Frucht und Kühl-Zentrum, a company of Hamburger Hafen und Logistik (HHL), has put a Konecranes Gottwald Model 4 mobile harbour crane into operation at its multipurpose terminal in Hamburg, Germany.

While the crane's main job at the O'Swaldkai multipurpose terminal will be to serve reefer vessels transporting bananas, the 100-tonne capacity G HMK 4406 has an outreach of up to 46 m and can handle heavy and project cargo.

Axel Hoeckrich, managing director of HHLA Frucht und Kühl-Zentrum, said: "With this new mobile harbour crane, we can efficiently unload the growing number of containers that are now being transported aboard fruit vessels … Its versatility increases our ability to develop new business activities."
