February 27 - Holleman Bulgaria, a member of the Cargo Equipment Experts (CEE) network, handled the transportation of a 120-tonne printing press in Bulgaria during February 2013.

The press was moved from its production factory in Ruse, Bulgaria to the port of Belene, loaded on a vessel and delivered to the Port of Antwerp in Belgium.

With dimensions of 7.5 m x 3.1 x 3.1 m, the press was transported overland using a 4-axle Mercedes and 10-axle Goldhofer semi-trailer combination.

Being situated inside a production hall with many obstacles, especially small curves and limited distances for transport configuration, the press was lifted by four hydraulic jack and iron beams. The loading process took more than 6 hours and the main role was played by the hydraulic system of the 10-axle Goldhofer semi-trailer.

Three bridges had to be crossed on the route to the port, each requiring a police escort to stop the traffic in order to allow the loaded truck to cross.

The unloading of the press in Port Belene was handled with a 250-ton (226-tonne) gantry crane for the machinery was reloaded on a river vessel for transport along the inland waterway system to Antwerp.
