August 28 - GPLN member from Israel, Dynamic Shipping Services (DSS) Ltd, last week handled the discharge of two heavy power plant units at Ashdod port using two heavy duty mobile cranes.
The units had a weight of 87 tonnes each and were bound for a private power plant and moved successfully to the site.
Meanwhile, another GPLN member, the Projects, Oil & Energy division of CSS Group recently handled the shipment of 1,200 cu m of air cooler units and accessories from a supplier's yard in Malaysia to the port of Alexandria in Egypt.
CSS Group says that whilst the entire job was undertaken smoothly and effectively in a very short period, with close coordination with both the agents and supplier, the task was not easy as it was contracted to undertake the work at very short notice.
Saint-Petersburg, Russia based GPLN member TIS Ltd carried out a unique transportation of a turbine from Hamburg, Germany to Leningrad area in Russia.
The weight of the turbine was approximately 308 tonness and had measured 10.93 m x 5.18 m x 4.86 m.
