March 18 - Netherlands headquartered Jumbo has signed a contract with Subsea 7 for the provision of FPSO mooring piles and ground chain installations for the Dana Western Isles Development Project (WIDP) in the North Sea.

Jumbo's Fairplayer, a dynamically positioned heavy lift vessel with two 900-tonne capacity revolving deep-water cranes, will undertake the installation work, which will commence this summer.

Jumbo is currently preparing for the Ithaca Stella mooring project and upon its completion, Fairplayer will move directly on to the Western Isles project. Jumbo says this will allow it to realise project efficiencies, and save time and resources.

The Dana operated Western Isles field is situated 90 km to the northeast of Shetland.  The water depth at site is approximately 160 m. The WIDP will be developed using subsea wells tied back to a centrally located FPSO. Oil will be exported by shuttle tanker and gas will be exported through a dedicated pipeline to the existing Tern platform.
