April 20 - Damen has ordered a Liebherr CBG 350 floating crane that will be used on a transhipment crane barge 6324.

Both Damen and Liebherr designed the transhipment crane barge 6324; Van der Leun provides the electrical systems, DMT Marine Equipment supplies the winches, and Pon Power provides the generator sets. The CBG 350 is the last of five identical floating cranes for use on Damen-built transhipment barges.

The crane barge can be equipped with a grab for dry bulk handling, a container-spreader or a hook. The Liebherr CBG 350 has a maximum capacity of 45 tonnes in hook operation and 35 tonnes in grab configuration, both at a maximum outreach of 36 m.

The barge design is based on Damen´s Stan pontoon series, which has a total length of 63 m and a beam of 23 m.

The CBG 350 floating crane is the 110th Liebherr product ordered by Damen Shipyards Group.

Arnout Damen, chief commercial officer of Damen Shipyards Group; and Patricia Rüf, member of the board of Liebherr-International.
