February 7 - Liebherr Maritime Cranes delivered nine mobile harbour cranes, four reachstackers, three rail mounted gantry cranes and one ship-to-shore container crane to various Italian ports in 2016, reaching a record level.

Pieter Vuylsteke, sales manager for the European market claims that "2016 definitely is a benchmark for our future sales ambitions in Italy."

The video below shows two Liebherr heavy lift ship cranes, type CBB 4700-450, operating in tandem to load three Liebherr, LHM 550, mobile harbour cranes destined for various Italian ports.

 

 

According to Liebherr it has delivered a LHM 550 crane to Compagnia Portuale, in Monfalcone as well as two cranes of the same type to Apulia, one for the Port of Brindisi and the Port of Taranto.  

The Bari based terminal operator Istop Spamat Srl received a multipurpose mobile harbour crane LHM 550, a used LHM 400 and two Liebherr Reachstacker LRS 545s, in order to increase cargo-handling efficiency, says Liebherr.

Leibherr also delivered a Reachstacker LRS 545, three rail mounted gantry cranes and a ship-to-shore container crane to Terminal Container of Ravenna SpA in the Port of Ravenna.

The terminal operator Sapir Group took delivery of an LHM 600, to join its existing mobile harbour crane fleet, which includes one LHM 550 and three LHM 400s. According to Liebherr, a Reachstacker will also start operation in the Port of Salerno for Amoruso S.P.A.

Liebherr believes that the positive trend in Italy shall continue in 2017.
