August 9 - The Manitowoc Company intends to relocate its crawler crane manufacturing operations from Manitowoc, Wisconsin to its existing facility in Shady Grove, Pennsylvania, claiming the move will allow the company to reallocate resources to invest in

The transition to Shady Grove is scheduled to begin in the third quarter of 2016, with completion expected by the middle of 2017.

"After a comprehensive analysis and review of our current manufacturing footprint, coupled with current market conditions, we believe this restructuring initiative will ensure that our business continues to meet and exceed the needs of our customers every day," said Manitowoc president and ceo Barry Pennypacker.

The site in Shady Grove already produces a range of product lines, including Manitowoc's rough terrain cranes, truck cranes, boom trucks, industrial cranes, and lattice boom crawler cranes.
