May 22 - Terex Port Solutions has delivered two Gottwald Model 6 G HMK 6408 mobile harbour cranes to the Port of Napier, New Zealand.

Each crane has a lifting capacity of 100 tonnes and a radius of 51 m.

Napier Port, located in New Zealand's North Island, currently operates a fleet of four Terex Gottwald HML 280 E and HMK 300 E mobile harbour cranes. The gateway is expanding its fleet as a result of business growth.

The chassis of both new cranes are fitted with a special set of axles that are spaced further apart than normal to take account of site conditions. The chassis is also equipped with eight axles, which prevents the maximum permitted loading weight of the quay from being exceeded. For the same reason, each crane has an extended propping system.

"Terex Port Solutions was best able to adapt its mobile harbour cranes to our terminal conditions while, at the same time, enabling us to improve productivity with the new cranes due to more efficient working speeds," commented Chris Bain, coo of Napier Port.
