October 13 - The Project Professionals Group (PPG) is getting a positive response from supply chain service providers to an initiative to expand membership categories.

The PPG network's general manager Kevin Stephens, said that 10 new members had joined PPG as Project Support Members in recent weeks. These include Encompass Marine Surveyors (USA), Flinter Shipping (Netherlands), Hubei Tiandi Heavy Industries (China), Landstar Carrier Group (USA), Magdenli Transport & Trade Co. (Turkey), Port of Corpus Christi (USA), Port of San Francisco (USA), Quebec Stevedoring Company (Canada), Sinokor Merchant Marine (Korea) and Tradelossa (Mexico).

"It is very pleasing to see the diversity of support for PPG's new membership category that we believe offers excellent business growth opportunities between companies with capabilities to service the heavy lift freight forwarding industry," Mr Stephens said.

The Project Support Members category was announced in August following the PPG's annual conference hosted by the Port of Corpus Christi. Mr Stephens said the PPG could now benefit from strengthening relationships with supply chain service providers by seamlessly tapping into their services from within its own coalition of companies.

Project Support Members will be one member per category in each major city or region and the service provider in the new membership category must not be in conflict with existing PPG members or compete against them in project forwarding.
