June 23 - The Specialized Carriers & Rigging Association (SC&RA) is holding its 2015 Crane & Rigging Workshop from September 23-25 at the Sheraton Denver Downtown Hotel in Colorado, USA.

The SC&RA is optimistic that the 2015 workshop will be even more successful than last year's workshop in Dallas, Texas, which attracted over 550 engineers, crane operators, safety directors and managers.

The workshop will focus on safety issues, regulatory and legislative updates, and networking opportunities.

Keynote speaker, Eric Chester, will present an educational session on strategies that companies use to retain their young workforce; Jeremy Landry of Deep South Crane and Rigging will present on jack and roll techniques; John Groce of WireCo will speak about crucial calls when evaluating wire ropes; and Frank Hegan of Crane Tech Solutions will discuss increasing safety and productivity through visual technology.

In addition, Bill Smith of NBIS will discuss new crane rules and new compliance directives; while John Glinski of Tappan Zee Construction will give a project spotlight on a new bridge project in New York. George Young will moderate a panel that will examine the repair and replacing of structures; Kris Koberg of DICA Outrigger Pads will speak on the three factors affecting the size of the crane mat or outrigger pad; and representatives from Barnhart, Fagioli and Transdata Movimentacao De Cargas Complexas will present details of the winners of the SC&RA's 2015 rigging job of the year awards.

The workshop will begin the SC&RA crane and rigging group's tower crane committee on September 22. Additional meetings and events throughout the workshop include: meetings of the safety, education and training committee, labour committee and governing committee; and exhibit centre; raffle draw; hot buffet lunch; and other receptions.
