DHL launches online booking tool

DHL Global Forwarding has launched an online service for comparing quotations and making instant bookings for air and ocean freight, as well as door-to-door shipments.

The myDHLi Quote & Book enables clients to compare available options from DHL’s services, which include DHL Ocean Connect LCL (less-than-container-load), DHL Air Connect and DHL Air Economy.

The service is now available in more than 60 countries.

“With this new service, we continue our digital transformation with the clear aspiration to become the leading global logistics provider,” said Bill Meahl, ceo, DHL Global Forwarding Americas.

For its airfreight solutions, booking options cover general cargo shipments up to 2,000 kg (2 tonnes). The ocean freight options provides instant quotes for for LCL shipments of up to 10,000 kg (10 tonnes)/ 20 cu m per shipment.

In addition, customers may request a quote for special cargo, including dangerous goods, lithium batteries and non-stackable cargo.
