August 30 - Further to the news story posted here on March 22, Martinique-based shipping company, Soreidom has advised that it will add a call at Rotterdam to its multipurpose service from North Europe to the Caribbean.

The first Rotterdam call will be made by the line's Martha on September 7 bringing inbound cargoes northbound from Surinam, Guyana and Trinidad. The ship will then load export cargoes and sail southbound via Antwerp, Belgium and Ipswich, UK, to Point Lisas, Trinidad; Georgetown, Guyana; Paramaribo, Surinam; St. Laurent du Maroni, French Guyana; St. Martin / St. Barth and other Caribbean destinations on inducement.

Martha is geared with two 60-tonne cranes and is strengthened for heavy cargoes, as well as being equipped for dangerous goods, containers, bulk cargoes and rolling equipment.

The service complements Soreidom's existing service from La Pallice, France and Antwerp to the French Antilles and other Caribbean destinations.
