January 30 - Over the course of 2014, the Sea Port of Saint Petersburg (SP SPb) invested USD5.23 million dollars in port infrastructure improvements - some 40 percent more than during 2013.

 

SP SPb added two Komatsu WA 200-5 front loaders equipped with 2.4 cu m buckets, as well as leasing a pair of Liebherr LHM 600 mobile cranes with lifting capacities of 140 tonnes. 

SP SPb also reconstructed a heat and power supply facility during the autumn of 2014, as well implementing automatic power control systems to reduce power consumption. SPb also renewed telecommunication and server equipment, modernised fire-fighting systems and reconstructed checkpoints at the Russian state border.
