April 8 - A steel cutting ceremony for Cosco Shipping Company's 90,000 dwt semi-submersible vessel Guang Hua Kou has been held at China's Guangzhou Shipyard International.
The purpose-built heavy lift vessel will have a large open deck measuring 211.2 m x 68 m, which is capable of transporting large offshore structures, semi-submersible rigs and jack-up rigs.
The vessel, which will be able to submerge 16 m and load cargo from the stern or the side, is scheduled for delivery in the fourth quarter of 2016.
