October 28 - Terex Cranes has launched its new LC 300 lattice boom crawler crane, which has a maximum lift capacity of 300 tons (272 tonnes).

The new crane, which Terex says is the largest in its LC product range, is intended for use by contractors operating in heavy civil infrastructure projects (especially bridge construction), as well as the petrochemical, power and wind energy industries.

Terex explained that the new crawler has a counterweight tray design consisting of two stacks on each side instead of one, which it claims reduces the counterweight stack height and lowers the crane's centre of gravity.

The LC 300 can be configured with up to 84 m of main boom, or up to 60 m of main boom with a 72 m luffing jib for a maximum system length of 132 m.
