April 8 - West of Scotland Heavy Haulage has taken delivery of a Manoovr trailer and a four-axle wind blade trailer from Nooteboom, alongside two new Mercedes-Benz Arocs tractor units.

The Scottish heavy haulier's new Manoovr low loader trailer has a 100-tonne capacity and features an adjustable platform height from 920 mm to 780 mm, as well as unique suspension and a 70 degree steering angle. It has an axle load of 12 tonnes per axle and a lowbed that can be extended from 12 m to 30.35 m.

West of Scotland
director Jimmy Campbell said that the latest addition to the fleet provides the company with even more of an adaptable solution than before for heavy transport projects in an "increasingly demanding industry".

The new four-axle blade transporter from Nooteboom is already preparing for its first job, which will see it move 288 wind turbine blades, each measuring 58 m long, across the UK.

The two Arocs tractor units - an 8x4 and 6x4 variation - were delivered to West of Scotland from Mercedes dealer Western Commercial Bellshill.
