April 24 - ALE Heavy Lift has completed the transport and load out of a 13,191-tonne production, utilities and quarters (PUQ) deck in Jebel Ali, utilising 512 axles of SPMTs.

The PUQ deck, which had the dimensions 98.5 m x 46 m x 58.8 m, was transported 883 m and loaded out by ALE. The Lamprell-constructed deck is currently en route to the Golden Eagle Area of Development (GEAD) in the North Sea.

In addition to the transportation and load out, ALE provided a range of services including all engineering works, such as FEED studies and method statements, project management, mooring and assisting with the ballasting.

The transportation was awarded the Guinness World Record for the "Heaviest Load Moved By SPMTs".

"The industry is continuing to see an increase in the size and weight of offshore structures and it's great to see that ALE's capabilities have enabled yet another record to be broken," said Richard Peckover, executive director of the Middle East and Africa for ALE.
