Atlas Air appoints Forbes

Atlas Air Worldwide Holdings has appointed James Forbes as executive vice president and chief operating officer, effective January 1, 2020.

Currently senior vice president and chief operating officer of Atlas Air Worldwide’s subsidiary Southern Air, Forbes has worked for the company for more than 20 years.

He will succeed John Dietrich who will assume the role of chief executive officer (ceo) on January 1, 2020. As HLPFI reported here, Dietrich will replace William (Bill) Flynn as ceo following his retirement at the end of this year. Flynn will continue to serve as chairman of the board.

Forbes will also serve as chief operating officer of the company’s subsidiaries, Atlas Air and Southern Air.
