Barnhart Crane and Rigging is set to acquire Idaho-based crane service provider Strate Line Crane and Rigging.

The purchase will expand Barnhart’s ability to serve commercial and civil sectors, as well as customers active in heavy industries, in northwestern USA.

Strate Line offers operated hydraulic cranes ranging in capacity from 30 tons (27.2 tonnes) to 175 tons (158.7 tonnes) covering Idaho, Montana and Washington State.

Barnhart will maintain all of Strate Line’s current assets and employees, but will manage operations primarily from its current Spokane, Washington branch location.

David Webster, northwest regional director of Barnhart, said: “This acquisition will allow us to continue to provide the services customers expect from Strate Line while also providing a broader range of solutions. These wider service options could help customers lower their overall costs on many projects.”

Webster added that through Barnhart’s coast-to-coast branch network, customers have access to innovative rigging systems and cranes with a capacity up to 1,800 tons (1,632.9 tonnes), as well as project cargo logistics services.
