Boskalis wins Hornsea contract

October 26 - Royal Boskalis Westminster (Boskalis) has been awarded a contract by Dong Energy for the transport and installation of the foundations for part of the Hornsea Project One offshore wind farm in the North Sea.

The farm, which is located 120 km off the coast of Yorkshire, UK, will generate a total capacity of 1,200 MW when complete.

The transport and installation of the foundations will be executed by Boskalis' new offshore transport and installation crane vessel, which has been converted from one of its existing F-class heavy transport ships.

The converted ship will be equipped with a 3,000-tonne capacity crane, dynamic positioning capabilities and accommodation for up to 150 people.
