Kevin John Cramer, the US representative for North Dakota, has called on Congress to conduct a study about the impact of electronic logging devices (ELDs).

Putting forward the H.R.6159 bill, Cramer has called on the US Department of Transport (DOT) to investigate how many employees have ceased being operators of a commercial motor vehicle as a result of the ELD requirements.

The bill was referred to the committee of transportation and infrastructure.

If passed, the findings of the study will have to be reported to the committees of transportation and infrastructure; education and the workforce; and energy and commerce of the house of representatives.
