FLS skids in Sharjah

Fleet Line Shipping (FLS) has transported a skid mount from Sharjah in the UAE to Bahrain. 

The cargo measured 14.57 m x 4.2 m x 5.02 m and weighed 36 tons (32.7 tonnes). 

According to FLS, the cargo owner requested that lifting equipment was not directly applied to the unit. To overcome this, FLS shrink wrapped the unit and towed the component to its warehouse in Jebel Ali. 

The unit was then rolled onto a flatrack container using a heavy-duty mobile ramp. It was subsequently secured onto the flatrack, in accordance with the component’s centre of gravity.

FLS then loaded the unit on to a lowbed trailer, using the lifting points of the flatrack, for onward transportation to Jebel Ali port, where it was lifted on to the container vessel Jumeirah.
