Time charter rates in the multipurpose shipping sector continue to creep upwards, according to the latest data from shipbroker Toepfer Transport.
Over the last month, Toepfer says that the average daily time charter rate for a 12,500 dwt/F-Type heavy lift vessel increased by a further USD78 in the last month to reach USD7,325. This also represents an increase of USD1,058 on the rate of USD6,267 recorded by the index in May 2017.
Toepfer's monthly TMI index is based on six to 12-month time charter rates and is compiled using data obtained from operators, owners and brokers.
