dship Carriers will expand its fleet with the acquisition of two newbuild F-500 multipurpose ships from Taizhou Sanfu Shipbuilding.

The first vessel is scheduled for delivery in November 2018, with the second joining the dship Carriers fleet in the first quarter of 2019. Each vessel boasts a lifting capacity of 500 tonnes. dship Carriers said the new generation ships have been designed to reduce fuel consumption while increasing stowage flexibility. The second hold, which has a length of more than 75 m, allows for long project cargoes to be stowed below deck.

Lars Feller, global vice president of dship Carriers, said: “We look forward to further improving our services with these environmentally friendly vessels. Our clients will benefit in two ways: with more technical possibilities for a wider range of project cargo and with competitive rates due to an economic fleet.”

dship Carriers also said that it is considering purchasing further newbuild and second hand tonnage in order to continue its fleet expansion.
