Sarens inks Zambian partnership

Sarens South Africa has established a partnership with Shumba to serve the growing construction market in Zambia.

Jonathan Greenway, sales representative for Sarens South Africa, explained that there is growing potential in Lusaka’s construction sector, as well as opportunities in wind energy and mining across the country.

In order to support the partnership, Sarens South Africa has established a depot just outside of the Zambian capital and mobilised four all-terrain cranes – ranging in capacity between 55 and 90 tonnes – from Johannesburg to the new site.

The Zambian partnership will also allow Sarens to offer engineering services, including rigging studies and method statements, to local clients.

“From experience, we know that entering a new market on our own is very challenging and time-consuming, which is why we establish local partners,” said Greenway.

“This allows us to provide our customers with benefits like exceptional SHEQ standards, a high-quality fleet of equipment, competitive pricing, locally-employed crane operators, solutions for both civil and construction works, and the backing of an established South African depot.”
