Taqa picks Jumbo

Taqa Energy has selected Jumbo to perform an offshore decommissioning project in the North Sea.

Jumbo has been tasked with the removal, transportation and disposal of three subsea protection domes and piles.

Jumbo’s heavy lift vessel, Fairplayer, will execute the works at a series of offshore fields located in the P15 block, 35 km northwest of Hoek van Holland, at a water depth of 26-28 m.

The carrier will recover and transport three subsea protection domes, each with a dry weight of 150 tonnes, as well as removing nine piles. Furthermore, the pipelines and umbilicals at each dome will be buried with mattresses. Works will take place during 2019 and 2020.
