ALS joint effort sends cable reels to China

Abnormal Load Services (ALS) is coordinating the delivery two large cable reels to China, with combined efforts from the company’s UK, Netherlands and Italy branches.

One of the reels measured 7.2 m x 5 m x 5.1 m and weighed nearly 358 tonnes; the other, weighing just over 114 tonnes, measured 4.2 m x 3.5 m x 3.6 m.

ALS Netherlands chartered a suitable geared vessel with ALS Italia in attendance for the loading of the reels, which were collected from Porto Trieste Quay, Italy, for onward delivery to Qingdao, China.

Final delivery is slated for the end of October 2018.
