Caterpillars roll through Jaxport

Hansen Shipping Agency has imported more than 120 Caterpillar excavators and related parts through the port of Jacksonville (Jaxport), USA.

The equipment was shipped on a Liberty Global Logistics ro-ro vessel to the Blount Island Marine Terminal. Each unit weighed an average of 24 tonnes and was driven directly off the ship to the terminal’s staging area adjacent to the berth, which is suitable for heavy loads.

The equipment will be loaded onto specialised trailers and transported to major Caterpillar distributors throughout southeastern USA by Hansen Specialized Transportation, the domestic transport division of Hansen Shipping Agency.
